Outlet Upgrade / Replacement (Residential Electrical Device Swap)

Remove existing electrical receptacle and install customer-provided upgraded outlet device in existing box location. Scope includes safe de-energizing of circuit, removal of existing outlet, installation of new receptacle (standard, USB, GFCI, or AFCI where applicable), reconnection of wiring, securing device, and testing for proper function and polarity.

Estimated Labor Duration:
2.0 – 4.5 labor hours depending on number of outlets, box condition, wiring age, and whether circuit correction is required.

Clarifications:

Assumes existing wiring is in good condition and meets current safety standards

Does not include new circuit runs, panel upgrades, or rewiring of existing circuits

GFCI/AFCI troubleshooting or correction of reversed polarity/grounding issues may extend labor time

Multiple outlet replacements in a single visit may be bundled but still subject to minimum service charge

Wall repairs or drywall patching not included if existing boxes are damaged or oversized

Includes basic functional testing after installation and confirmation of correct operation
